Pianist for The Red Bows,
Albuquerque, 1963

A native of Albuquerque, Fred studied piano as a boy with Ralph Berkowitz, former dean of Tanglewood and accompanist for 20 years to the great cellist Piatagorsky. In New York, he studied acting for two years with stage and film legend Geraldine Page and vocal performance with Tony award winner Helen Gallagher.

As a commerical actor, Fred has been the homeowner harrassed by a 5’10” blade of grass on the national Lawn Doctor commercials, wrote and broadcast his own radio program on WDVR, 89.7-FM, and for over 40 years has run theĀ Copper Penny Players, a class for singers of all ages and musical backgrounds.
