Biography
Fred Miller, 1963
Pianist for The Red Bows,
Albuquerque, 1963

A native of Albuquerque, Fred studied piano as a boy with Ralph Berkowitz, former dean of Tanglewood and accompanist for 20 years to the great cellist Piatagorsky. In New York, he studied acting for two years with stage and film legend Geraldine Page and vocal performance with Tony award winner Helen Gallagher.

As a commerical actor, Fred has been the homeowner harrassed by a 5'10" blade of grass on the national Lawn Doctor commercials, wrote and broadcast his own radio program on WDVR, 89.7-FM, and for 25 years has run the Copper Penny Players, a class for singers of all ages and musical backgrounds.

Currently, Fred enjoys assembling cabaret programs for singers, and as a performer himself, his sole focus is now his series of nearly fifty "Lectures-In-Song." Each of these Lectures is a musical & anecdotal profile of a great American songwriter, performer or some important aspect of classic American Song, presented at scores of libraries, retirement villages, arts organizations and private venues throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
